The Post Office

Rabindranath Tagore

Performance, one act

Premiere – 9th March, 2023

This poetic and musical performance invites us to think about dreams, expectations and liberation. 100 years ago, Rabindranath Tagore believed that no matter the age of his interlocutor, it was important to speak about death. The awareness of time is like the feeling you have when you try to explain what you felt in your dream… If there were just the right postman who could give your feelings the right words.

Yes, a postcard has been sent to you. And it wants you to read it. On the back, in almost illegible handwriting it says, ‘a sick boy in a faraway Bengal land that sees more than any of us, remaining invisible to us, sings about… who can understand that? — NO, I will not show…’

PS Attention! During the performance all spectators sit on mattresses and walk in super nice socks without any shoes on!

PPS… Really looking forward to that!

The audience is invited to experience the performance by comfortably sitting on mattresses with their shoes off.

The publicity graphics were generated by Midjourney AI, relying on the following keywords: Amal boy under an orange blanket with a white envelope in his hands.
